After her retirement as Executive Director of the US, Educational Foundation in India, Sharada Nayak founded the Educational Resources Centre Trust (www.erctrust.org). As Managing Trustee of the ERC Trust, she along with a small group of staff and project consultants, she has enlarged the work of the Centre to include student projects, teacher training workshops and study abroad programmes inIndia for foreign students.
Her continued commitment to intercultural education, and her experience of more than forty years in the field, has brought her many accolades and awards such as Distinguished Service Awards from the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board, the Council on International Educational Exchange, the Committee for Teaching Asia of the Association of South Asian Studies, and the T. M. A. Pai Foundation, Manipal and a doctorate in Humane Letters from St. Lawrence University, New York.
The proceeds from the trust is proactively used to help in the upliftment of needy scholars
She is actively associated with Delhi Public School Society of which she is a life member. As an alumna of the school, she is involved in managing committees of over 25 Delhi Public Schools spread all over the country.
